This year, as always, we selected a few of our wines to enter into the important wine competitions in the UK, which remains our core market. This is usually a difficult choice as we are proud of all of our wines, but to enter them all would be overkill and cost a small fortune!
We remain unconvinced whether awards in these competitions actually make a significant difference to sales, but receiving awards is certainly good for the feel-good factor and is good for the reputation of the Domaine. What has been interesting this year is the perfect example of how subjective wine tasting can be with our Rhone blend ‘Le Marin Blanc’ 2011 receiving a Silver medal from the judges at the Decanter World Wine Awards, but receiving a ‘Commended’ from the judges at the International Wine Challenge. Regardless we are enormously proud of all the awards we have received and list them below:-
