Harvest is over for another year at Sainte Rose!  It has been an excellent year with fantastic flavour and colour intensity across all our grape varieties, thanks to ideal weather conditions during the growing season.

All the whites have finished primary fermentation and are showing excellent acidity and aromas.  The Rhone varieties are now ageing on light lees and the lighter fresher varieties have been racked and finished.

The reds are showing marvellous ripe tannins and superb colour across the range.  Most have now finished both primary and malolactic fermentation and will continue to age on light lees in either tank or barrel.

Highlights have included hand harvesting the new pinot noir plantations, whose first beautiful, concentrated fruit will go into some exciting new products, and experimenting with an ‘orange’ wine using some of our Roussanne grapes.  Watch this space for details of these intriguing new wines going into the new year.
