Le Pinacle or 'the pinnacle' is the highest point of the tower on the Chateau at Domaine Sainte Rose. Symbolically therefore this rich, buttery Chardonnay is the top of our white wine range. Picked at night, this Chardonnay has undergone primary and malolactic fermentation in a combination of French and American oak barrels. It has aged in the same oak barrels for twelve months.
Colour: Pale gold
Nose: Immensely expressive and complex nose. Fresh floral aromas combine with warm vanilla and caramel notes.
Palate: A rich mixture of peach and orange confit with essence of vanilla. The long, smooth creamy finish maintains an overall freshness in the mouth.

What the critics say
Open & complex on the nose, showing aromas of browning butter, orange blossom, toffee-apple & pastry cream. Rich, peachy flavours, are complimented by citrus notes, a honeyed texture & some nutty development. A classy Chardonnay, where the oak's nicely integrated & the finish is long

Rich, buttery Vin de Pays d'Oc, with rich intense palate and good length. Very good for a first vintage!

What a good Chassagne Montrachet should be at 1/3 of the price
JP Bauermeister, Les Vins de la Collégiale, Switzerland 2004
Andy Barrow, andys-scribblings.co.uk, 2004An impressive aroma, nicely oaked and nutty. The palate is rich and buttery with a good layer of melon fruit and a long, long finish. If you like your chards big and oaky this is the fella for you- but a year or two down the line don't be surprised if more complexity develops and the oak subsides gently. Scribblings Rating - 88/100
